The March 2007 Debate: ‘What Boundaries To Mediation In The Middle East?’

HRH Prince Hassan of Jordan, Michael Ancram MP and the journalist Jonathan Freedland took part in a GSF Middle East debate on 13th March 2007.

Dr Rosemary Hollis, Director of Research at Chatham House kindly agreed to chair the Forum’s debate, “What Boundaries To Mediation In The Middle East?”

Guest panellists were HRH Prince Hassan of Jordan, Michael Ancram MP and the journalist Jonathan Freedland. The debate benefited from Prince Hassan’s wide-ranging experience and from the fact, as he put it, ‘we live in the middle of it all’.  Comparisons were drawn between the situation in the Middle East and what foundations were put in place with regards to the peace process in Northern Ireland.
