On Wednesday 2nd May, we welcomed to GSF Professor Nic Cheeseman, Professor of Democracy and International Development at the University of Birmingham; and Dr Brian Klaas, Fellow in Comparative Politics in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics. They spoke on the themes of their new book, How To Rig An Election (Yale University Press 2018) and gave an overview of corrupted professional politics, as well as how new solutions for protecting democracy from authoritarian subversion might be developed, in an event which was chaired by Lord Lothian.
