GSF was delighted to welcome Robert Hayes, Senior Fellow at the Microsoft Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments, who gave our second October lecture on Wednesday 30th October.
In his lecture, he described what it feels like to be a global IT company in the cyber era, and made observations on the changes needed to enable industry and governments to move forward in partnership. He then discussed the potential transformative impact of cloud-based technology in developing countries, and why this might threaten some governments. Finally, he pondered the question, ‘Governments & Technology – Does It Have To Be Quite This Difficult?’, before answering wide-ranging questions in the ensuing Q&A session.
